Where does the real peace we all say we want in our world come from? I love these two quotes:
“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.” Buddha
“The only peace in all the world that is sustaining is internal peace. Let each person find peace within.” Neale Donald Walsch
Inner peace is an issue people often discuss with us, usually because they’re wondering how they can find it in their lives.
I realize it can be challenging to find and maintain inner peace in the midst of the increasingly dramatic and frequent changes in our world today.
But it is possible. And it’s necessary, for ourselves and our world.
Here’s Spirit.
Spirit
So many humans today are torn endlessly between what they “should” do and what they “should not” do. You are inundated with all these messages from outside influences on how to live your lives.
We’re saying the obvious here, but that is not the road to real peace.
So what is the road to real peace?
First we’ll tell you what it is not:
● Constantly wanting to be perfect, when your soul know you are perfect right where you stand.
● Never saying “No” to anyone.
● Allowing yourself to be manipulated into doing what you do not want to do.
● Making your peace and happiness contingent on the choices of others.
● Feeling guilty about the past.
● Worrying about the future.
● Caring what others think of you.
● Always putting yourself last.
Now here are some ways we promise will get you started on the road to inner peace. Which is the only place peace can live, whether you’re talking about personal peace or world peace.
● Follow your heart.
● Always put your own inner guidance above the opinions of others.
● Trust your feelings, your intuition, your inner guidance.
● Be fully in the present moment. It’s all you have anyway.
● Take time to nurture yourself every day — meditate, make love, walk, run, get out into nature.
You get the idea. The “bottom line” here is to do what feels good for you and to you. You are your first responsibility. When you accept that you will find real peace in the only place it can live — within yourself.
If more of you did what we’ve suggested here today, you’d be well on your way to world peace.
World peace can live only when each of you find that inner peace that is the source of all peace.
